New Releases of Bedrock and Mica Expand Data Lake Beyond Hadoop

Posted by Kelly Schupp, VP, Data-Driven Marketing on Feb 9, 2017 9:33:09 AM

With our latest Bedrock and Mica updates, we’re pushing the boundaries of what has up until now typically defined a data lake: Hadoop. Why are we moving in this direction? Because it makes sense for our clients, who need a solution to centralize management of data from siloed data systems, legacy databases and hybrid architectures. Our solutions support the concept of a data lake beyond Hadoop to encompass a more holistic, enterprise-wide approach. By constructing a “logical” data lake architecture versus a physical one, we can give companies transparency into all of their data regardless of its location, enable application of enterprise-wide governance capabilities, and allow for expanded, controlled access for self-serve business users across the organization.

Zaloni Fosters Change: Little Steps to Help Those in Need

Posted by Pubali Borthakur on Jan 17, 2017 2:31:57 PM

It all started when the Zaloni CSR Team decided to initiate Vastram-Repo a Clothes Bank in our office to help the underprivileged people living in extreme need. Many employees showed keen interest to help the deprived by donating clothes. To support and continue this effort, we came up with a cloth donation plan. Collecting the clothes both new and used was fast and easy; the difficulty was in reaching out to those in dire need. It was then that we first visited ‘Nirmal Ashray’, along with many other homes, with the aim to share whatever we had in our Vastram-Repo. "An easy way to help the helpless- donate clothes" was our motto- but it guided the team to take a step ahead.

Zaloni Celebrates Diwali Through the Ancient Artform of Rangoli

Posted by Cristia TM Sangma on Nov 1, 2016 11:27:48 PM

Diwali (or Deepawali) is one of the India's biggest festivals and is celebrated on a new moon night sometime in the months of October and November. The day is primarily celebrated to commemorate the return of Lord Rama from his 14 years of exile after defeating Raavana, the people of Ayodhya lighted candles and diya (earthen lamps) to celebrate his return to the kingdom. The festival gets its name from the lines of diya that were lit to commemorate the return of Lord Rama, and hence the name Deepavali, literally translating to "lines of light." This day symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.

At Zaloni, we have always prided ourselves on being self-funded and cash positive in this innovative and complex big data space. But there comes a point in every company’s evolution when you have to take a hard look at where you are, and where you want to be, and how you’re going to get there.
